Welcome!

This blog has been created for readers with an interest in historical fiction to provide a forum for discussing the art of writing historical fiction, and particularly my own historical novels. To date I have published nine historical novels, and the tenth is set for release later this month. I look forward to sharing with readers interested in historical fiction the stories behind these novels – how and why they came to be written, the difficulties enountered in the process and on reporting key milestones, as well as discussing the novels themselves with interested readers.

In addition to my own entries, I will post reviews of my novels by independent third parties. I may also review historical fiction by other novelists that I find particularly valuable or enjoyable. Perhaps most important, I want to give you, my readers, an opportunity to ask me questions and comment on my books.

Last but not least, from time to time, I may actively solicit your help in making a decision about a future novel. I may, for example, present two or three different cover designs and ask you to let me know which you like best. Or I might solicit suggestions for the title of a forthcoming book or article. I look forward to hearing your suggestions and ideas!

Meanwhile welcome! May this be the start of a long and fruitful friendship.
